Design Gallery, St. Moritz

The ST. MORITZ DESIGN GALLERY is open around the clock, 365 days a year. Along the pedestrian passage from Badrutt's Palace Hotel to the lake, 31 large illuminated showcases are installed. Here, changing exhibitions with valuable posters and photographs are realized, creating a veritable art gallery that presents themes to passers-by in poster form.

Albert Steiner photographs

The St. Moritz photographer Albert Steiner (1877-1965) is one of the outstanding Swiss photographers of the 20th century.

His landscape photographs of the Engadin in particular played a key role in shaping the perception of Switzerland as an Alpine country of timeless beauty. Inspired by painters such as Giovanni Segantini and Ferdinand Hodler, Steiner created images that not only meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and technique, their aesthetic qualities are also impressive.

The exhibition in the St. Moritz Design Gallery shows oversized reproductions of photographs from Albert Steiner's most important creative period between 1910 and 1930 from the collection of the St. Moritz Documentation Library.
